I took it as more conciliatory than your first and thought it deserved a less knee-jerk reaction. That's why I replied even after you removed your post because you deserved better. No harm done either way, I hope.

I agree with you, when something like tape hiss disappears from an old recording, one has to think drastic frequency response change or not.

What I've noticed from applying crystals and, more recently, the battery ground tweak is more processing effects and increased studio sound, even from TV - particularly local news broadcasts. Some of those newsrooms sound small where I was hardly getting any info at all before. So, at least in this case, more info is being received by my fuzzy ears than before - a plus - and it sounds less mechanical, more real. But you can see what I'm dealing with electrically in a separate post below.
