ground tweak

There has been a lot posted recently about the ground tweak of Bud Purvine, which has excellent sonic results.
In meditating about how it is supposed to work as a source of electrons (which are negative and thus supplied by the ground), it occurred to me that a simple battery with just the negative hooked up to the ground could work in a similar fashion. It also would be a test of his hypothesis.
Using a 9 volt battery, we hooked up the battery ground to a wire to the ground terminal of a tube amp. We already had a very large choke hooked up(both choke terminals hooked to the ground terminal).
The sonic increase was dramatic and instantaneous. We gained maybe 2 dB, bass was significantly increased, with better detail and dynamics. It was the ground tweak multiplied by ten fold, although I may be exaggerating a bit.
