JR's absorption panels

I too made some pretty good sized panels for my Dad's listening room. They were appr. 50" wide and 8' tall. I used 2 x 4's for the top, bottom and side rails. To help support the insulation and keep it from sagging, i used 2 x 3's as "joists" and spaced them at appr. 16" centers ( just like a house would have ). This worked out excellently as the fiberglass easily overlapped the supports in front so there was no reflection from the wood yet gave the insulation a secure footing in the back for the entire height. All of this received a complete wrap-around covering of polyester batting with a layer of black burlap over that.
Quite honestly, they came out looking much better than i expected. They are quite uniform in appearance without any form of lumps or a bunched up appearance. Both my mother and father thought they looked relatively professional and did not detract from the appearance of the room. Besides all of this, they work EXCELLENTLY.
Thanks to Jon for all of the homework that he put forth in making things of this nature possible for us. I think that we would all agree that he's a great asset to this board and the audiophile community. Sean
