magnetic induction occurs at 90 degrees to current flow. That's basic EMF theory. As stated elsewhere, in reworking older post and pile homes where electrical leads were stapled to the wooden joists, I notice that the insulation on the black insulated wires generally had hardened and cracked insulation. If it were my home, the use of the plastic ties would be a cheap insurance.

Your opinion may differ, of course. And, of course, there is no need to follow my advice or opinions.
