Which cap to upgrade first?

Posted by bruce.warren on November 29, 2007 at 13:48:26:

I'm thinking of upgrading the crossovers in my Proac Response 1SC speakers with some designer caps. But since they are so expensive, I'd like to see if I need to replace all of the Solens (3)or just one or two of them. The x-overs have 3 Solen polypros, 1 30uf electrolytic, 3 inductors, 2 ceramic resistors.

Any ideas which I should try first? There are 2 Solens on the tweeter 3.3uf and 5uf. The 5uf is last on the signal path (nearest the tweeter). A Solen 6.8 is on the midrange and is first in the signal path from the amp.

I'm looking for a little more texture/detail but like the overall voicing. It would even be cool if they were more responsive at lower volumes, but I'm not holding my breath.
