AC outlet question?

Posted by Detailman on May 31, 2007 at 06:43:59:

Don't post here often but always lurking.
About a year ago I changed an outlet to a Leviton that I don't remember the model of but I know I did have to order it online as HD or Lowes didn't have it.
This was in my audio area and noticed a distinct improvement. I had ordered three of them to defeat minimum charges.
Decided to put one in my computer room, glad I did. Seems to be a lot smoother and quicker.
Anyway my question is that when I changed the original outlet I had two sets of black and whites plus the ground wire but in the computer room had only one set of black and white plus ground.
Is this because it's the last oulet on that circuit?

To experts this is probably a dumb question but I've got very little AC knowledge and have a healthy repect for what it can do if not right.

Thanks
