Direct AC - NO Power Cords

Posted by anolog on December 2, 2004 at 18:25:36:

My components are wired directly to the circuit pannel. I twist 75m of 20 amp house hold copper wire, and then soldered Schurter connectors to the ends. And then wired 4 seperate ciruits directly into the Power Pannel. When I ran the wire through the rafters I made sure the any house hold lines crossed at 90 degrees and and a distance from my lines. Twisting the wire is the key.. it helps to cancel rf and magnetic interference caused by two line running parallel to each other. The difference is amazing. First impression was how much quieter the background was. The tone had improved greatly through the whole range ... Instruments are clearly defined in space and tonally.. When a key on the piano is struck it sounds percussive.. Clean signal. cost $45 for wire and $63 for breakers. No need for power cords. Huge improvement.
