RE: How Much Tube Rush is Acceptable?

Are you sure it's tube rush and not just noise from stereo operation? Try switching the Fisher to mono and see if the noise is reduced.
I have a 100B also and it has much more noise in stereo than mono. And unfortunately the noise level on my classical station is enough to be bothersome most of the time, so I have to listen in mono. On my local jazz station the signal is stronger and I am ok in stereo most of the time.
I find the Fisher to be quiet enough in mono provided the signal is not too weak. But for my classical listening I end up using my Sansui TU-717 transistor tuner. That is far less noisy but it just doesn't have the tube magic.
