HD Radio?

Posted by texanater on February 24, 2017 at 06:49:44:

I've thoroughly enjoyed my NAD 418 tuner for about the past 20 years. Its truly a wonderful tuner that punches waaaaay above its belt (as long as you can live with the light bulb burning out every 5 minutes). I live in Houston. As much as I love this city and all that it has to offer, the radio here is TERRIBLE! We have less than 5 serviceable stations. This is quite shocking considering the city's size and rich musical history. Making matters worse, our only classical station just moved to HD. So I either need to get an HD radio or basically abandon radio all together. KPFT has a couple good shows on weekends, but you have to wade through all the baggage of pacifica!

So anyway, please suggest a good affordable radio. NAD's current radio is $400, beyond what I would like to spend. I was hoping to keep it under $100 but am willing to consider more expensive options.

Thanks!

Nate
