here's how to find out for yourself to a 95% confidence. Uncover the bottom and discharge the power supply capacitors and any other energy storage devices to render the bits and pieces safe. With an ohm meter between pins 3 (the plate) and 4 ( the screen) measure resistance between them as you flip the switch back and forth. The lower reading should be for triode position as the plate and screen are connected together, possibly with resistor( but it will be smaller than any dropping resistance in the power suply, I suspect). Consult the schematic if you get two identicle readings, though I doubt it will happen.
