So: Book(s) or DIY club in NYC?

Posted by Leopold Nenning on June 5, 2002 at 19:05:05:

Thank you kindly, Eli!

We will have to do that in February, I'm afraid. Cooling is provided by breezes and fans mostly in our home (yeah, there is an AC, but is has to get really bad before we turn it on.)

I'm not really worried about power either way, I think the fewer watts I can get away with the better for the music. Sensitivity rating is just a meaningless number anyway, a starting point at best. The 15 solidstate Watt (another rather meaningless number) per channel Nait2 will drive the Twins just fine. I have never succeeded to go past eleven o'clock with phono, or past nine with CD. So I want less power if anything, I think two handsful of tube watts will be more than enough.

So what about a club or books to teach me a thing or two about thermionics?
