REVIEW: Luxman (Lux Corp. of Japan) SQ38 Signature Integrated Amplifier (Tube) Review by rameish at Audio Asylum

One of the wonderful things about an EL34 amp is the ability to tube roll with the power tubes at minimal cost. The amp was extremely musical out of the box. Changing the EL34 to Svetlana's, the 12AU7 to Mullard 4003 and the 12BH7A to RCA proved to be the ticket for me. This 75th Anniversary product has been so successful that there is now a KT88 version in Japan. Used in combination with my Copland 289 cd player and Primare L30 speakers, I have become more interested in music once again. An added plus for vinyl lovers is the inclusion of MM phono capability. My CEC ST930 turntable with Audioquest PT6 arm and Grado Reference Platinum cart have seen so much more use that I now have to change the cart because of wear! The system sings and the heart of the system is the Luxman SQ38 Signature. Expensive it may be but worth it. The bass could be a little tighter but I'm fixing that at a later stage with tri-wired cables.
