Re: Choice of tube equiptment to power Quad '57s?

Many people, including myself, have had great success using the Heathkit UA-1 or UA-2 (or converted EA-3 integrateds used as power amps) with the '57's. These little EL-84 amps sound terrific through the Quads, and they are relatively easy to find and very easy to rebuild (if necessary).

On the higher end, I am using a VAC PA100/100 with my Quads, and it sounds great. Fuller than the Heathkits, a bit more bass and Ooomph, the VAC is clean, detailed and virtually invisible (more or less what a power amp should be, in my opinion).
