The biggest problem I encounter is that Russian tube pins are slightly narrower and hence don't make good contact unless I bend them slightly outward. Other than that I don't touch the pins much and let the socket straighten them out.

But I would think that this tool was for mil-spec applications. Home audio doesn't rise to that level.
