All CBS 12AX7s are oddballs.

If you have any, send them all to me. I will happily rid your caddy of them.

The usual CBS X7 is a terrific-sounding sleeper tube. Really nice sound.

This is not one of them.

I have seen the mica support bars on 'made in USA' later branded Mullards in the past, all of which turned out to be RCAs (and not all that lovely). But never a triple mica version like this example.

Triple mica usually means industrial or military production, and a higher grade of tube. Give one a listen and let your ears decide.
