Picked up a quad of 6GM8

Posted by zacster on August 6, 2012 at 17:20:15:

I got an email from Antique Electronic Supply last week and I checked the supply on this tube, which was out of stock when I looked a year or two ago. I had built the Broskie Aikido with these back in 2006 (which I found out when I did a search just now). I still use this pre-amp as my one and only.

Anyway they had some and they just came today. They were all GE marked Made in Holland, but unadvertised as such. Does that mean they are all Amperex? My original quad is Amperex Bugle Boys/Orange Globes, 2 of each.

The last time I inquired about these from a private seller, he wanted I think $160 for the quad and I thought that was crazy. These are NOT a popular tube, even with 24v Aikidos going semi-commercial. I just paid 6.60 each, so about $25. I paid even less for my original quad.
