for the Prologue Two

I just want to say that I owned this gorgeous overachiver for some 8 months. I tried a lot of tubes and found the best sound coming from the combination of JJ Tesla KT88 tubes (while Electroharmonix was also good, extremely extended and analytical but with less magic than JJ), JJ 12AU7 and General Electric NOS 12AU7. The problem I had is that my speakers are ported with 2 medium-size ports and the bass response was not at all fast. It was emphasized and very bloomy. For example Enya's Watermarks first and second songs, while voice was charming, the keyboard's bass line was overcooked and so boomy that cannot be listened with the volume knob about 1/4. I believe connecting source and amp with a good all silver cable will reduce this effect. Also the amp combined well with speakers that dont go down to 25-30hz and will not cost a fortune, like Totem Mite or Rainmaker. They will be a nice combo. Treble was good but I heared still after many tests a very-very slightly ringing and a very slight touch of edge in upper violin octaves that was not present with more expensive stuff (x3 the price).
Anyway the amp is gorgeous, magical, not so fanatic in terms of analysis or immediancy but for sure it is very dynamical with very good micro,macro-dynamics. Dianna Krell's latest CD Girl in The other room sounds so full and live like beign in a club with her.

Product Weakness: Not a good bass performer with my speakers (this is of course common with many tube amps), needs careful cable selection and most important: the right hell-fast speakers.
Product Strengths: Gorgeous price/money combo, far more dynamic than you think possible, nice all-rounder. Huge soundstage. Warm and sweet but with muscles.
