Please help me with my Rogue 66 preamp problem...

Posted by vinylphile on November 3, 2002 at 16:15:12:

Just purchased a used 66 from a respected Audiogon seller and there seems to be a problem with the large source selector knob (I think!). Specifically, the phono stage seems to be static-y and noisy with the sound coming in and out - problem is intermittent, more common in right speaker. The source selector knob seems to be loose and when I "jiggle" it I hear static. When I "jiggle" it into the right position the noise is minimized and output seems to be ok but I still get some interference during record play, particularly weird feedback-type noise with recorded piano. Also, when I touch knobs the sound seems to be transmitted to the right speaker and I hear feedback. Problem also happens a bit with the CD line but the other lines seem to be ok.

Any ideas?
