You meant remove all ground connections from other chassis. I thought you meant to lift any and all circuit ground connections from chassis inside the Eico HF-81.
I agree that having multiple safety ground connections on multiple chassis, that are then connected together by signal grounds, will cause ground loops and their associated hum.
