An Offering To Those Wiser Than I

Posted by Dr Deville on September 15, 2004 at 22:56:54:

Howdy Inmates,

Each of you knows much more than I do about thermionics. Please accept these observations with the respect with which I offer them:

1. The only courtesy we can decide is our own.

2. Free speech never justifies rudeness--it is just as easy to communicate an idea with friendliness as it is through insult.

3. No matter how right you are, or how rude others are, hostility never looks good or helps your point.

4. Though you may or may not make your point, your attitude always comes across loud and clear.

These things are easy for me to write, for I have to tell them to myself daily.

I hope you folks will someday repost the information in those threads for, even though I respect their participants, from their subject lines alone I knew I did not have the stomach for them.

My loss!

Please take this message in the spirit in which I offer it. To save bandwidth, I will not respond to any public replies to this post, but am glad to get and return emails.

By the way, I think tubes are really neat!

Best,

George Ferguson
