I think what you are calling an aura in the pp amp is what I was referring to as the cleanliness and sharpness and no rounding of edges like the se amps has. It was quite noticeable in my test too. I still have more listening to do, but I think the pp amp might have had a bit better bass as well. The SE amp seems to have a softer sound on higher notes like stings, but again more listening needed. I would have to agree than both are good sounding amps and I will have to listen to a lot of different music to decide which I like best.
