The triode section of 6AV6 is functionally equivalent to each triode in 12AX7. Obviously pkg is different. Diodes will usually be grounded. Practically speaking, sound will be mostly a function of surrounding circuitry AND of personal expectations. Microphonics may also be an issue compared to a good 12AX7.
