GE Grey Plate 6829
Posted by krankkall on March 13, 2017 at 19:19:32:
My favorite new driver tube for an RH84 amplifier.
Slightly less gain than a standard 12AT7.
Heater current is 50% more than a standard 12AT7, so watch out for that.
VERY detailed sound from top-to-bottom.
GE black plate 6829s are supposed to be better, but are more expensive and difficult to locate?
I got my GE (branded United Electron) gray plate 6829s on flea-bay NIB/NOS for under $11/delivered.
