obviously the first clip lead wasn't grey sounding or the experiment would have ended there. From reading your post, you had stock wiring, and bypassed it with a clip lead and noted an improvement.
You then attributed the improvement to the increase of wire area so you proceed along that line. After the "fix" is installed another clip lead jumper still improves the sound.
this makes me see a red flag in the methodology. Don't get me wrong, I have heard drastic changes before and when later revisiting the situation i found the changes were due more to my excitement in wanting a change rather than anything i could consistantly replicate.
