Wow, your G36 sure looks minty! That sounds like you have an great plan. You guys sure have some nice microphones! I'm just digital I'm afraid. I get some pretty decent sounding recordings with a pair of tiny, modified AT853's. I record lots of jazz and do most of my post work with Wave Editor ( Audiofile Engineering,Mac only) and spectral edit/repairs with iZotope Rx. Pretty small time but man, is it fun. I really don't think you're getting a lot of what this hobby has to offer until you start hitting that record button.
Good luck with the B.C. trip and of course, we fully expect a detailed report when you return.
