Cautionary Tales

I like a good podcast, and one I listen to is 'Cautionary Tales' by Tim Harford the British economics writer and journalist. Last night I caught up with a recent episode while cleaning some LPs. It was about the life of Claude Shannon who wrote a seminal work on information theory that, basically, defined how much bandwidth is required to convey a piece of information. And I thought about that again this morning as I skimmed Totem Sky, part 17:)
