There were a few other amps in the mix, but these were the only ones to see any real time driving them. Ya they're definitely power hungry, will get silly loud when asked, and if set up correctly one of the best imaging speakers I've ever heard. Over the past 26yrs I've on occasion used them sans sub and for their diminutive size have an astounding amount of very clean bass. Subterranean bass no, but musical bass yes, enough so if used in a bedroom the sub wouldn't be a necessity.
