Hum from sub

Posted by docw on May 19, 2017 at 14:16:44:

I have a Denon AVR 2313, sub out through coax to a sub across the room.

The sub has started to produce a hum. No breaks in wires. I made a heavier duty power cord with heavy duty plug.

Switching power off and waiting a time or overnight will cure it, and then it comes back without warning, even when we are just watching TV.

Room has rheostat controlled recessed lighting. Usual stuff.

Where/how do I start to look for the source of hum?
