New Skylan stands - they keep getting better

Posted by mbnx01 on November 3, 2011 at 14:55:38:

I'm quite partial to 'Monitors on stands' and so have owned lots of stands over the years. By far the best stands I've found are the Skylans in terms of looks, quality, and most important sound quality.

I've owned lots of Monitors, so that means lots of Skylans. I just got a new set for my Harbeths and Stirling LS3/5a V2's. I see Noel (aka 'Mr. Skylan') is not resting on his laurels - these keep getting better.

He's using a new smaller column which looks VERY good with a smaller speaker like an LS3/5a. Makes it easier to match up with the top as well.

The tops and bottoms of the stands....I might be mistaken, but I don't think they're painted anymore. It seems to be some kind of vinyl adhered to the wood. It is VERY solid and looks great.

There are little improvements in the box like tops for the sand holes, etc. The packing is very detailed and really shows the quality that goes into these stands.

Highly recommended!
