QUAD 22L in a large 25'x30' w/ 10' ceilings?

I have money burning a hole in my pocket and my wife is thinking up ways to spend it on other things besides speakers. I just can't seem to find any good speakers for $2000 anywhere. Unbelievable. Im thinking of just settling for the QUAD 22L's and be done with it if they can fill such a large room. The local QUAD dealer says NO.
Any opinions on this?
