I guess if your own code of conduct mirrors that of your audience, any dissenting opinion is going to be met with hostility.

I think deep down, most of us DO know right from wrong. But the Internet, an economically depressed economy, and a culture of addiction, all make for a highly toxic and dangerous mix where ethics can quickly be thrown out the window. And herd/mob mentality takes over.

Especially if you want to fit in.
