It's interesting that Jean Hiraga's book "initiation aux amplis á tubes" has only been translated into one other language, namely Swedish (Rörförstärkare). This came about because a very entusiastic French oriented Swedish audiophile, Anders Edenholm, learnt French for the express purpose of being able to read the French audio books and magazines. 35 years ago he opened an audio shop in a southern suburb of Stockholm where he sold mainly French equipment like Verdier turntables and Hiraga amplifiers, but also Onken and Altec Lansing VOTT speakers in kit form. I hung out there a lot at the time and I eventually bought an Altec VOTT kit based on the Hiraga A5, as modified by Pano(maniac). When Anders Edenholm finished his university degree in journalism in the early 90ies he closed the shop and moved to London. He still contributes a column every month to a Swedish Hi Fi magazine.
