The Chinese Market

I strongly disagree. These aren't t-shirts. Chinese companies produce tube amps for Western markets. Many Western specialty items see virtually no demand in the domestic Chinese market. Tube amps, Harleys, sports cars, etc. - these things just don't fit well into mainstream Chinese economics or culture. Chinese tube amps are intended for export to the West, and I can assure you that if they weren't, the quality would be even worse.
All that aside, what you just said about the transformers being made in China is near the top of the list as a reason not to ever own one. One of the few Line Mag products with published specs, here's what Chinese tubes and transformers get you:
