That's recycling some old iron. When does the capacitance of the grid and plate choke become an issue? What kind of levels of pfarad? In my homemade iron I keep capacitance down I use teflon tape between layers and use a Z scheme when I wind the chokes/transformers. No faraday shields, reverse windings, litz wire, bifilar or double bobbins.
I am familiar with Mike F, his products and forum.
