Are new production WE 300Bs really an upgrade?

Posted by HiFiOd on April 4, 2006 at 20:17:50:

I have been running a pair of Sophia Mesh plates,
and wondering if WEs would be a worhtwhile upgrade/tweak.
I have not heard them in my amps, but in my other tube gear, I rypically prefer the sound (soul/fluidity) of NOS to sovteks, electroharmonics,JJs, EMLs.
Also read that the Magnequest OTs were designed for the WE 300B,
oon the other hand I've been eyeing EL 84 vintage amps as well, Eicos, Scotts....
