Re: Casting platform for 14" john

Posted by timjcam21@yahoo.com on May 26, 2003 at 18:31:12:

I got a 14' jon and i just put a little platform from the middle seat up to the front 2'. i put a 2X10 right against the middle seat and 2- 2x4's on the sides of the boat for support, i used 2 more 2x10's 2 feet straight out and made 2 triangle braces on the side of the boat for support. i then put a piece of treated plywood on top of that and i have 3 storage spaces underneath. i put marine carpet on top of the plywood and the middle seat. it turned out pretty good. it did put some weight to the front of the boat but it is fine. just wondering how yours turned out? i want to make a livewell out of a cooler and be able to put it in and out of the boat but i haven't got to it yet.
