Electrical question outboard Suzuki motor

Posted by gshulstad@rrv.net on April 27, 2003 at 11:50:18:

I have a Glastron with a Suzuki Spirit motor and one day the tach short-circuited and started to smoke. I drove the boat to the dock and disconnected the wires to it, and the boat will not start ever since. Does the ignition go through the tach in a way that it won't function without it, or has something else possibly fried? I can't find any blown fuses or burnt wires. Thanks for any help, Gerry
