I've got a 1994 Explorer for sale as a matter of fact. The will run at about 35 to 40 mph with its Rotax twin Cyl. 2-Stroke, depending on the altitude of the water you're running on. As far a manueverable they can turn on a dime and are easily parked at dock side.
As far as maintanence goes, this boat has been no problem what so ever. Just replace the spark plugs every year or so and keep the battery charged, you will have no problems.
