Hi Thom
Sorry about posting twice. I forgot to use the refresh button.
Not ready to launch unfortunately. After a long illness (Xmas to May) I am now a fully qualified type 2 Diabetic.
Work progresses now that I am feeling alive again and I am hoping to be in the water for August, but next year would not be unrealistic. I start on a dinghy sailing course this weekend so I get to learn which ropes to pull and I am hoping for a few days crewing with a Norwegian friend who is sailing his home South for the Summer.
My long term plan has changed from a trip to the Med and instead to: England to Holland, then coastal cruise Denmark, Germany, the Baltic, Sweden and Norway for the spring and summer of 2005. If I am brave enough to cross the northern North Sea I have a friend living in the Shetland Isles which are officially Scottish but practically Norwegian. That will provide my route home.
A higher number of English speakers in these countries tipped the balance. This poor monoglot can only say diabetes in English :^) Also, they sent us the Angles, Jutes, Saxons, Frisians, Vikings and oatcakes. I intend to return visit and attempt to drink all their beer.
Best wishes to you.
