1978 Johnson 7.5

Posted by mickb724 on March 29, 2005 at 14:15:53:

I am working on a 1978 Johnson, a 7.5 horse. I am wanting to put a new impellar in the water pump, but I am having trouble taking the foot off. I took out all of the screws and the foot dropped about a quarter of an inch, but I can't get it to come completely off. I think if i can find the coupling holding together the 2 shafts i will be able to take off the foot. If anyone knows where the coupling on the motor is located, or any other way to access the water pump, it would be a tremendous help. Thanks.

Michael
