my boat pitches wildly to the left

I just got this old Caveler with a Chrysler 105 almost for free from my friend. The engine runs and the boat goes thru the water, but I have a big problem. At the highest speeds, even while holding a dead straight heading, the boat pitches wildly to port, as if taking a very sharp turn - but it doesn't turn - this thing is up 30 to 40 degrees while going dead straight. I can snap it around to starboard and it swings off in a nice bank and makes a tight turn, but while trying to go straight, I'm up 30 degrees. It takes everything I've got just to turn to port at all. At lower speed it behaves better, but at tubing speed I'm either going straight at a 35 degree angle or holding the boat level and pulling hard to the right. What's going on?
