Re: 1968-1970 Evenrude 18 h.p. Fastwin Outboard.

I have a late 60's - early 70's Evenrude Fastwin, 18 h.p.outboard. It keeps wanting to jump in and out of gear and bucks. On occasion, at moderate speeds it willsheer a pin all by itself.

The cables are tattered, but functional. I'm wondering if its the gears and clutch dog in the lower unit - or if the problem is something as simple as a mere shifter adjustment. I don't know how to perform repairs for either of what I think are the potential problems.

I really would appreciate some feedback.

Thank you.
