Cruising skiff recommendations

Hello:
I currently own a trailer sailor but have found that setup time and slow speeds have kept me from really going anywhere with my pocket cruiser. I am looking for a cruising skiff that is economical to buy and maintain, fast and fairly seaworthy and comfortable for quick trips.
I would consider building something but it would have to be very simple as my time is limited. Are there plans available for the Pacific City Skiff?
