JOHNSON 1999 50HP WARNING HORN BEEPS

Posted by dale on June 20, 2003 at 18:30:56:

Hello,
I got rid of my oil resevouer and mix the gas myself now. I had no problems for two months but now my warning horn beeps short tones(sometimes four times, sometimes more) according to my sticker that means low oil. The beeps only happen intermitantly and my engine does not go into SLOW mode. What gives? If the oil resevouer wires are disconnected (creating an open to ground) why would it alarm?
thanks for all info.
Dale
