Not familiar with the Kells but you may find more info on www.trailersailor.com it is very active board for small sailboats. Personally I have never been a fan of the set up you described as it is too far away from the tiller if you need to crack off the main in a hurry. I grew up racing dinghies and like the main sheet close by. I prefer the main sheet to be run to a horse at the stern or a bridge just ahead of the tiller. I am sure if you post your question on the trailer sailor you will get some good feedback.
