18 hp 1968 Evinrude Fastwin oil to gas ratio ?

Posted by DaveO on June 6, 2003 at 02:35:50:

Hi, From the searching I've done or people I've asked the answer has been "should be 50:1" anyone know if this is right ? This motor was in storage for 15 years, last fall I gave it to someone to look it over and get it runing. For some reason he didn't know for sure either, but they did say it was well maintained and in good condition.
Would also like to know if it would be wise to mix the oil a little heavy at first where as it has not been used in a long time.

Thanks DaveO
