For those interested in the Canned Heat thread of a week or so ago.

I mentioned in that thread that I had ordered CH's "Boogie House Tapes, Vol II. If you're a fan, pick this up! GREAT music, plus the added bonus of some acoustic Blind Owl stuff recorded while he was in the hospital recovering from a heroin overdose. It really gives you insight in his blues roots - the guy could have sat next to Son House or Blind Lemon and held his own with just an acoustic guitar and his voice.

Lots of good stuff, both old and new - including a live tune with Peter Wolf and Magic Dick of the J Geils Band and a hilarious live cut with Wolfman Jack. Some of it has dubious fidelity but the package is an incredible archive into one of the great boogie/blues/rock bands of the 1060's. Well worth buying if you're more than a casual fan.
