Shania Twain, "Any Man Of Mine"

Posted by Luminator on May 19, 2025 at 13:21:01:

30 years ago, my girlfriend ACS graduated from UC Berkeley. Did she then go east, to the country? Nope, she headed west, to San Bruno, close to her new job with Genentech. So if we wanted to go "country," we headed for the Pacifica shores.

There, we heard Shania Twain's country-pop, "Any Man Of Mine." I'm not sure how popular this is, if you head away from the coast. But here in the Bay Area, radio stations do not seem to play it.

The music video for "Any Man Of Mine" was not filmed in Twain's native Canada. It was actually shot in Santa Ynez, Santa Barbara County. As for the song, at the Canadian Country Music Awards, it did win Single Of The Year.
