Pat Benatar, "Painted Desert"

Posted by Luminator on December 25, 2024 at 13:25:28:

Traditionally, the San Francisco holiday treat was local Dungeness crab. But now, the crabbing season does not start until the new year. But 40 years ago, while enjoying fresh (not frozen!) Dungeness crab, we heard Pat Penatar's "Painted Desert." Accustomed to Benatar sounding more rock-oriented, we did not know what to make of the slow "Painted Desert."

Uh oh. One of my retiree and divorced audiophile friends says that the slower "Painted Desert" and its lost and longing mood fit today's audiophiles.
