NKOTB, "You Got It (The Right Stuff)"

Posted by Luminator on January 27, 2024 at 16:14:36:

Uh oh. 35 years ago, "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" by NKOTB (New Kids On The Block) was a "hang out at large malls" anthem. However, since we lived in San Francisco, we did not really have large malls. Stonestown was next to our high school, but it was not hip and cool, like it is now.

I guess Serramonte was the closest mall conducive to "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" being our anthem.

Thing is, due to online commerce, malls are no longer viable. But when my old schoolmates, including my wife, hear "You Got It (The Right Stuff)," it can make them feel like 1989 teenagers all over again.
